Where the Wild Things Are: Hardness of Heart

The longer we serve the Lord the more susceptible we become to this Wild Thing. Like wax removed from the heat of a candle’s flame, our hearts can slowly, imperceptibly, begin to harden if we drift away from regular contact with the Lord. We may even be actively serving the Lord, as the disciples were in this story, but still be hard in our heart toward God and out of touch with the spiritual realm.
