The Summit Church teaches the Bible is the perfect Word of God, written by men under inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus, while fully God, became man to live and die to save the world from the curse of sin. Thus humans have a way to escape the judgment and condemnation they deserve because of sin, through accepting the finished work of Jesus. (see Becoming a Christ Follower)
Jesus ascended into heaven and is preparing a place for us there. He will come again. Until then he has left us the Holy Spirit as a comforter and guider.
Becoming a Christ Follower
There are four elements to becoming a Christ Follower.
- Admit your sin and your need for God.
- Believe Jesus Christ, God’s Son, lived, died, and rose again.
- Confess your belief in Jesus through prayer.
- Change the direction of your life from your own way to God’s way.
What Then?
- Get water baptized as a public declaration of your faith.
- Read the Bible and pray daily.
- Get involved in a fellowship of other believers (church).
- Remember it is not through our good works that we are saved, but because of what Jesus did for us.
